Becoming a Conflict Competent Leader (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2013)

Hello ECE friends from the Broomfield Summit,

I found a university that posted the 1st edition of this book in PDF.  If you are interested in reviewing it before you purchase the 2nd edition.

Friends that did not attend our session, I used the book in developing an understanding of how early childhood organizations can become effective at achieving their goals like Colorado QRIS and implementation of evidence-based interventions.

I may create a voice-over video if asked.  Anyone interested?

Thanks friends,

A Book to Start Seeing Solutions in a New Way ~ Theory U (San Francisco, CA: Berrett-Koehler Publisher, Inc, 2009)

“Leading from the future as it Emerges” is the tagline for this book.  I can not think of a better way to address the way an organizational leader must frame their issues with running an ECE org.   So often we do not have the answers and must just, “let go” and see what comes.   This is a deep read and if it scares you that is ok.  Remember, your readiness is something your gut will alert you on.  This book’s time will come; however, if this topic interests you may start by reading Presence by the same author and some friends.  It is shorter and much more reader friendly.

“Good is the enemy of Great!” ~ Jim Collins (HarperBusiness, 2001)

My all time favorite book!  This is another must read if you are interested in an effective early childhood organization.   Click here to check out my series of blog posts on this life-changing book on developing your organization.
